Christine: so true, korean food is crucial. there will SO be a post on uhmma's dwenjang cchicgae!

Kerry: so glad your love for korean food is because of me! :) but hey- there's nothing wrong with beef and cabbage, in fact those are like 2 korean food staples! so the neon-yellow slices are pickled daikon radish. "danmuji" in korean, "takuan" in japanese. i'm actually not crazy about them myself bc they're slightly sweet, and i like my pickles...well, non-sweet.

I owe my love of Korean food to you, Caroline. Plus it sure beats corned beef and cabbage (No offense to my heritage, but really. Could we be anymore bland?). Something has always remained a mystery to me: what are those crunchy, neon-yellow slices? Not that it's stopping me form eating them, but are they veggies? Do explain.
